9 disc golf holes in the Zirbenwald plus 5 practice holes, both at 1,800 meters
A frisbee, a metal basket, and a mountain backdrop at 1,800 meters: disc golf is one of the most fun, accessible summer activities on the Kreischberg. The principle is similar to golf, but instead of a ball and clubs, you use a special frisbee that you try to get into a metal basket with as few throws as possible.
On the Kreischberg, the DiscGolf Park is located directly near the mountain station of the 10-person gondola. You can choose between a 9-hole course through the pine forest and a shorter, introductory course with 5 holes. This makes the activity suitable for both beginners and families looking to spend a few active hours on the mountain.

DiscGolf Park Kreischberg — play at 1,800 meters
9 holes in the Zirbenwald
The main course features 9 holes and runs through the characteristic Swiss pine forest surrounding the mountain station. Each hole has its own starting point and basket. Due to trees, elevation changes, and natural obstacles, every throw requires a slightly different approach.
5 holes to get acquainted
Would you like to try out disc golf first to see if it's for you? Then there is also a taster course with 5 holes. This shorter course is ideal for beginners, families with younger children, or as an extra activity during a hiking day.
A total of 14 playing lanes
Together, the main course and the taster course offer 14 holes. So you can choose whether to take a short introduction or turn it into a more extensive activity.

How does disc golf work?
From tee to basket
You start every hole from a designated throwing spot, the tee. From there, you try to get the disc into the metal basket in as few throws as possible. You always throw the next ball from the spot where your previous throw ended.
Just like in golf, the number of throws counts.
Every throw counts as one point. Whoever needs the fewest throws at the end of the course wins. But of course, you don't have to turn it into a competition: disc golf is fun precisely because everyone can play at their own pace and level.
No experience needed
You don't need any golfing experience or exceptional fitness for disc golf. Throwing technique helps, but the basics are quick to understand. This makes it easy for adults and children to play together.
For families — active without being too strenuous
Everyone plays at their own level
A major advantage of disc golf is that speed and power are not decisive. Children can play closer to the basket or simply use a few more shots. This keeps everyone involved, even when ages or skill levels differ within the family.
Easy to combine
The DiscGolf Park is situated right amidst other summer activities on the Kreischberg. This allows you to play a few holes and then continue hiking, have lunch, or visit one of the family routes.
By gondola to the DiscGolf Park
Comfortably up
The 10-person gondola takes you directly from the valley station to the mountain station at approximately 1,800 meters. The DiscGolf Park is located in the immediate vicinity, so you don't have to make a long climb before you can start.

Combine disc golf with a day at the Kreischberg
Dinowald
For families, the Dinowald is a logical combination. From the mountain station, you walk to a route featuring life-sized dinosaurs among the trees. This makes it easy to turn disc golf into a complete day out in the mountains.
Kreischi Safari & Geisterbahn
The Kreischi Safari and the Kreischi Geisterbahn are also located on the mountain. Especially with children, this allows you to easily alternate disc golf with short adventure walks.
Hiking on the Kreischberg
Those traveling without children can combine disc golf with a walk across the alpine meadows or towards the Kreischberg summit at 1,997 meters. This way, a playful activity becomes part of a more active day in the mountains.
Food and drink
Mountain7 It is located next to the mountain station and is open on the days the gondola runs. Other mountain huts and restaurants may also be open on lift days in July and August. Check the current opening times in advance.
Practical tips for disc golf
Bring suitable shoes
Although disc golf is not a strenuous mountain sport, you do play on natural terrain between forests and alpine meadows. Therefore, sports shoes or hiking boots with sufficient grip are more comfortable than slippery casual shoes.
Allow sufficient time
How long you spend depends on the group size, experience, and whether you play 5 or 9 holes. For a relaxed visit, plan roughly one to two hours, excluding the gondola ride, walking, and any other activities.
Watch out for other visitors
The park is located in a recreation and walking area. Only throw when the playing area is clear and wait when walkers or other players are near the basket.
Mountain weather
At 1,800 meters, the weather can change quickly, and even on warm days, it is cooler than in the valley. Therefore, bring sun protection, water, and a thin warm or rain-repellent layer.
Discs
Preferably use real disc golf discs, as they fly more stably and accurately than regular beach frisbees. Inquire at the lift or sports shop about current options if you have not brought your own discs.
